Horton — Services for Jerome H "Jay" Masqua, 60, McLouth, will be at 2 pm Monday at the Old Community Center building on the Kickapoo Indian Reservation west of Horton. A tribal wake service will begin at 3 pm Sunday at the same location. Burial will be in the Kenekuk Cemetery on the reservation.
Mr Masqua died Wednesday, Nov 22, 1995, at his home.He was born Feb 18, 1935, at the Kickapoo Indian Reservation, the son of Marvin and Madeline Cadue Masqua.
Mr Masqua had lived in McLouth for two years after moving from Kansas City, Kan. He was a graduate of the Haskell Indian Institute in Lawrence and was a member of the Kickapoo Indian Tribe of Northeast Kansas. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include his mother, Madeline Masqua, McLouth; two brothers, Joe Masqua, McLouth, and Bruce Decker, Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Joyce E. Hendrickson, Olathe, and Debbie Decker, Asheville, N.C.
