Hatch Cemetery
Bourbon County,
Kansas

January 25, 1862 - June 24, 1909

Uniontown Cicerone, June 25, 1909
Andrew J. ("Jack") Guttry, aged 47 years, living five miles southwest of Uniontown, died yesterday afternoon of tuberculosis. He was son-in-law of Mrs. Margaret M. Nichols and resided on the Nichols homestead. The deceased came here a short time ago from Anderson, Calif. He leaves a wife and one son in California, and his father also survives. The funeral was held today from the family home and burial was made at Hatch cemetery. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Bolcourt of the Methodist Episcopal church at Redfield.
------------
In the Bronson Pilot newspaper obituary it was interesting that it was mentioned he was a cousin of Mrs. Henry Nichols. He was the (ex-)husband of Elzora Nichols, the son of James R. Guttry, (ex)-son-in-law of Margaret M. Nichols who was also his 1st cousin....etc. Jack and Mrs. Henry Nichols were 1st cousins. Also his (ex)-wife Elzora Nichols was his first cousin once removed. They had no children.
His wife in California's name is unknown and they were at least estranged. Jack and his wife in California had a son named Winnie which is probably a nickname.
