John and Amanda J. Laswell were married on January 27, 1859 in Sangamon Co., IL They were the parents of Sarah Ann, Mary Thompson, William T., Esther E."Hester", Benjamin A.and John. After Amanda died in April 1875 John married Eliza Jane Brown who had been a Mother's Helper to Amanda.
John and Eliza Jane's children were Otto Tilden, Pluma Edith, Lula Alice and Ruth Caroline.

John Turner is Dead
Old Resident of Uniontown Neighborhood Died Last Night--Funeral Saturday Morning.
John Turner, for 55 years a resident of the Uniontown neighborhood and one of the most widely known and highly respected citizens of that part of the country, died last night at his home in Uniontown, following an illness of complication of diseases.
Mr. Turner was born in Camden county, New Jersey, August 15, 1855 (1835), being at the time of his death 85 years and 11 months of age. He came to the Uniontown neighborhood 55 years ago from Illinois. He bought a farm six miles west of Uniontown and lived there continuously up to five years ago when he moved to town. He joined the Protestant Methodist church many years ago and had always lived a Christian life.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Eliza Turner, and the following children: Mrs. Anna Ard, Elsmore, Kans.; Mrs. Mary Turner, of Uniontown; Mrs. Esther Rogers, of Uniontown; W. T. Turner, Farmingdale, Ill.; Otto Turner, Hardtner, Kansas.; Mrs. Pluma Nichols of Bronson; Mrs. Lula Pool, Bronson; Mrs. Ruth Beaman, Uniontown.
Two children died in infancy.
Thirty grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, July 16, 1921 from the Methodist church at Uniontown. Services were conducted by Rev. Cool. Burial was made in the Hatch cemetery.
