Fort Scott Tribune, February 22, 1998
Darrell Eugene Abbott, 46, Uniontown, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at his home. He was born, Dec. 30, 1951, in Fort Scott, the son of John Clayton and Cleo Viola Salmon Abbott. He married Mary Alice Likely, May 24, 1975, in Uniontown.
He graduated from Uniontown High School in the Class of 1969, attended Fort Scott Community College and Emporia State University. He was employed as a veterinarian assistant for Earle Binford and Kevin Gorman, for 20 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Uniontown.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter and one son, all of the home in Uniontown; his mother, Cleo Abbott, Uniontown and one brother, Merrill, Lakeland, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Abbott and a sister, Madeline Abbott.
