ALTUS, Ark. — Coyle "Junebug" Detherage, Jr, 69, of Altus, Ark, died March 8 in the Veterans Hospital at Oklahoma City, Okla, after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 10, 1940, in Altus, Ark, to Coyle and Daisy Detherage. Coyle started school at the tender age of four. During high school, he played on the Altus Owls boys' basketball and baseball teams, where many lasting friendships were formed. He was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, throughout his naval career and while there he was an amateur boxer for the United States Navy team.

After having served in the U S Navy, he moved to Great Bend. Here he met and married Gloria Raquel Marquez in 1964. To this union were born four children. In 1988, he then married Carla Sue Francis. She preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 2007.

Coyle worked in the oil and trucking industry until retirement; however, he could not stay idle, so he started his own trucking business, Detherage Trucking. He again retired to return to Altus, Ark, to help care for his mother. Coyle enjoyed gardening, fishing and any activities that included his grandchildren. Many fond memories were made with his family, children and grandchildren throughout his life.

Mr Detherage was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge.
