Died at her home about three miles of Piedmont last Friday evening of heart failure, aged 41 years 9 months and 5 days. Mary Hurd Jackson was born in Kindingstone, Oxfordshire, England, August 16, 1868, and came to America when she was four years old. Mrs Agard was married to Chris Agard in 1889, and Greenwood county has been her home since her marriage. She was the mother of 7 children, 3 daughters and 4 sons, who with their father survive her. She is also survived by a mother and father Mr and Mrs Edmund Jackson, of Reece, and 4 brothers and 4 sisters, Mrs Agard was highly respected by all who knew her and her sudden death is a great loss to her family and is felt keenly by the community. Funeral services conducted by Rev George Johns were held at the family home Sunday morning and interment was in Greenwood cemetery.
