November 22, 1818 - April 19, 1903
William was the son of Abijah and Elizabeth (Livingston) Means. On March 5, 1837 he married Anna Irwin in Clinton, Missouri. They were the parents of Joanna, Sarah M, Benjamin Franklin, Rachael, and Susannah that we know of. In January of 1857 Anna passed away after they had migrated from Missouri to Iowa. Six months later William married Louisa Eliza Jane Baker in Montgomery County, Iowa. They were the parents of Leonidas Lee, George Jefferson, Thomas Henry, Alfred Prather, Anna Ione, William Hamilton, Montie K, John B, and Byron Frederick.
