OBITUARY
The Hamilton Grit Hamilton, KS Thur Jan 9, 1918 Un Memory Mrs. W. T. Sherman In memory of Mrs. W. T. Sherman, who depated this life Wednesday evening, Jan. 23, 1918, at her home in Dist. 9, after an illness of only five days with pneumonia.
Margaret Gleason was born near Toronto, June 15, 1874 and was therefore 43 years, 7 months and 3 days old at time of her death. Dec. 24, 1894, she was united in marriage with W. T. Sherman and to this union five children were born, three preceding her to the Great Beyond and two, Will R. and Winnie, who have reached the age of young manhood and womanhood are left with their father to mourn the loss of a devoted, loving wife and mother.
As one by one, three sister passed away from this life, Mrs. Sherman welcome their children into her hom and treated them as her own. Mrs. McDivitt remarked as she spoke the tender consoling word to the family and friends at the funeral Friday morning.
"Her home was never so full but what there was room for one more."
She was always kind and generous, especially to children and they all loved her as one of their best friends. Her life as one of noble sacrifice to others. Many pleasant days have the Social Sisters in her home. Paid their last tribute to their friend and neighbor. A sister, Mrs. Nancy Williams and a brother, Joe Gleason, of Toronto, were also present at the funeral. Another sister, Mrs. Sarah Matlock, of Towanda, could not be present.
After the funeral services the body was conveyed to the Rocky Ford cemetery, near Neal, as it final resting place.
