SHALLOW WATER — Harold "Stanley" Sauer, 76, of Shallow Water, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Scott City, to William Harold and Gladys Pearl Cheney Sauer.
A resident of Shallow Water since 1999, moving from Garden City, Mr. Sauer was a boiler tech at Monfort in Garden City until retiring in 1998. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church at Garden City and enjoyed fishing, camping, collecting knives and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
On Feb. 2, 1952, he married Bonnie Bulkley in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Randall Sauer of Spearman, Texas, Mike Sauer of Modoc and Kirk Sauer of Scott City; two daughters, Daphne Schmidt of Garden City, and Michelle Gross of Wichita; a brother, Curtis Sauer of Garden City; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Gospel Fellowship Church in Shallow Water, officiated by Loyd Gross, pastor. Inurnment will be at Modoc Cemetery.
