Pneumonia Caused Demise of Spivey Man Last Thursday
John W. Bosseck, an aged bachelor living at Spivey, died at his home at 10 o'clock last Thursday evening following a five day illness from pneumonia.
The body was brought to the Livingston undertaking parlors from where the funeral was held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon. The services were in charge of Rev. A. J. Aikens of the Christian church. Interment took place in the Cunningham cemetery by the grave of his sister, Mrs. Aaron Lake.
Mr. Bosseck was an uncle of Mrs. H. L. Gardner and Mrs. Nellie Maddix of Kingman, and of Art Lake of Spivey. Besides these, he is survived by his brother, C. P. Bosseck of Wilson county, and a sister, Mary Peffley of Parsons, Kans.
John Bosseck was born in Montgomery county, Ind., on October 17, 1843, and died at Spivey on March 27, 1924, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 10 days.
He enlisted in Battery E, 1st Illinois Regiment, Volunteer Light Artillery on the second of August, 1862, and served until the battery was mustered out of service on July 11, 1865.
Shortly after leaving the service, Mr. Bosseck united with the Church of Christ and had always remained in that faith.
