Obituary
George M. DeWitt, 79, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at his home in Scott City.
He was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Minneapolis to George Wilson and Florence Johnson DeWitt. He was a resident of Scott City since 1953, after moving from Salina.
After retiring from Scott County Public Works in 1991, he worked for Western State Bank as a courier for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Robins.
Funeral was at First Baptist Church in Scott City. Interment was in Scott County Cemetery.
