Margaret Edith Millikan Smith was born in Jewell County, Kansas in the small Quaker settlement of Northbranch, Kansas to Basil Oral and Anna Mae Grimm Millikan. When she was 2 years old, she and her family moved to the Otterbein Community in North Eastern Oklahoma.
Margaret started school in Carselowary, Oklahoma in a small two-room school. From there she went to school in Shidler, Oklahoma and later to High School in Cleora, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1936.
While she was working at the Northeastern State Hospital in Vinita, Oklahoma, she met Floyd H. Smith who also worked there. They were married January 11, 1943 in Vinita, Oklanoma. They were married 48 years before he passed away June 30, 1991.

Margaret has worked many jobs, some of which were as a cook at the K-State football boys' cafeteria in Manhattan, Kansas, a cook at the Shamrock Café in Syracuse, Kamsas, a dispatcher at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office in Syracuse, Kamsas; she then became a Port of Entry Inspector at the Port in Coolidge, Kansas on Highway 50. Later she transferred to the Port in Tribune, Kamnsas on Highway 96 until the station closed and she retired. After she retired, she worked as a Green Thumb worker at the Horace Greeley Museum in Tribune, Kansas.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilynn J McCammond, Bay, Arkansas, 4 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren, and younger brother, Roger Millikan from Elkand, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd H Smith, Brother Dwight Millikan, and her parents Oral and Anna Mae Millikan.
