* Jack was a graduate of US Military Academy at West Point, class of 1963.On July 8,1965 a patrol from Golf Company, 2/4 Marines, suffered an accident of war. The platoon leader, 1st Lieutnant Jack O Eitel, and Private First Class Stefan Z Stalinski, Canada, were accidentally shot by other members of the patrol who mistook them for the enemy.
