Mack Comstock, 88, of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Monday morning, March 10, 2008 at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott, Kansas.

He was born November 27, 1919, in Redfield, Kansas, the son of Mack and Edna Lena (Smith) Comstock.

He married Pansy Pearl Harris December 7, 1939 in Stockton, California. She preceded him in death March 31, 2006.

Mack served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.

In 1947 he opened Comstock Servicenter on Market & National, then in 1985 they moved to the 12th & Bypass location in Fort Scott, KS.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Rising Sun Lodge #8 AF & AM, a Lifetime Member of the Fort Scott Scottish Rite Bodies, reaching 33rd degree in November, 2007, a member of the Mirza Shrine Temple of Pittsburg, KS, Mounted Patrol, Mobile Nobles Charter
Member, Order of Quetzalcoatl, Hospital Dad's Charter Member, the Kick Off Club, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, Uniformed Units, and a VFW Life Member.

Mack is survived by his children, Carolyn Meek and husband, Don of Louisburg, KS, Jim Comstock and wife, Jeanie of Fort Scott, KS, Janet Comstock of Fort Scott, KS, and Sharon Comstock of Crosby, TX, a brother, Leo Comstock, Redfield, KS; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Pansy, he was also preceded in death by his parents.

Rev. Tim Davish conducted funeral services March 13, 2008 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.
Memorials were requested be made to the Mirza Shrine Transportation Fund.
