March 2, 1960 - 2010
Charles Kirby "Moby" Finch, 50, of the Kickapoo Reservation of Horton, Kansas, was found dead west of the Golden Eagle Casino, Saturday, May 1, 2010 of natural causes. Moby had been reported missing since early March.
He was born at Holton, Kansas, March 2, 1960, the son of Charles Albert and Vera Duncan Finch and had made the Kickapoo Reservation home most of his life. Moby attended Horton Schools prior to the family moving to Ohatchee, Alabama where he graduated from high school. He returned to the Reservation and worked as a mechanic and 4 years as a firefighter for the Tribe. Moby was a member of the Kennekuk Religion.
Survivors include son, Jeromiah Finch of Horton, Kansas; daughters, Amber Finch-Walker of Holton, Kansas, Megan Finch and Chelsea Finch, both of the Kickapoo Reservation; brother Matthew Finch of Falls City, Nebraska; sisters: Judith Finch-Touray of Shawnee, Kansas, Teresa Rangel of Kansas City, Kansas, Vicki White and Rhonda Johnson, both of the Kickapoo Reservation, Dawnie Duncan of Emporia, Kansas; and grandchildren; Adam Lee Finch and Maa-tho-qua Wakole.
