Father of Dixie Lee, Ace, Roy Jr, Bonnie Loy, Carl, and Connie Kay.
Roy enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1939 and served until 1942. He then entered the U.S. Army and served in the coast artillery in North Africa and Sardania. He was later transferred to Company A473 Infantry Division in Italy. Roy received an honorable discharge in 1945. After his discharge from the Navy, Roy enlisted in the regular Army in 1946 and served until March of 1947. He was a disabled veteran.
