Came to America with John William Bennett, II from Wales and made his home with John and his family as they made their way across the states to finally live in Labette County, Kansas. The lettering on the tombstone is weather beaten but bears this inscription: "In memory of David Foulks, Ty Buchtrefelwys and a native of Wales, departed this life September 12, 1887, age 30 years.Inscription: Yn nghanol ein bywud yr ydym yn angan - Gwyhioch gan hyny am na wydoch pa uior y daw eich arylwghc." Translated in english it reads: "In the middle of our life we are with death, remember that no one knows the hour our Lord will come."This inscription was researched and preserved by the granddaughter of John William, Ona Mae (McBride) McKee with the assistance of the University of California's Center for the Study of Comparative Folkore and Mythology in 1982.
