Dale Louis Heard, 44, Iola, died Saturday Feb. 10, at Allen County Hospital.

Heard was born Feb. 19, 1956, in Iola, the son of John D. and Lucile Pool Heard. He was graduated from Iola High School in 1974. during his high school years he enjoyed bowling and earned several trophies in area tournaments. He was particularly proud of having bowled a 300 game.
He worked for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita for a short time in the 1970s.
He is survived by his parents, John and Lucile Heard, Iola; two sisters, Sharon Porter and her husband, Chalmers, Canon City, Colo., and Connie Albrecht and her husband, Joe, Cookeville, Tenn.; three nephews and three nieces.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola. The Rev. John C. Thompson officiated. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Memorial funds were established with the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Iola Police Department DARE program.
