September 1838 - December 17, 1905
Bronson Pilot, December 19, 1905
Jefferson Ostrander died, December 17, 1905 at the home of his half brother, D.A. Watson, south of town, (Bronson, KS) with whom he had been making his home for several years past. He was born in Joe Davis County, Illinois, in 1841. The funeral service was held at the house, conducted by Rev. Park Blunt after which interment was made in the Bronson cemetery.
Family believe the birth date in the obituary of 1841 is incorrect and that Jefferson was born in 1837 or 1838. Most Federal Census Records indicate he was born in 1838. Birth date of September 1838 was taken from 1900 Kansas Federal Census where he was living with his half brother.
Jefferson is buried near his half-brother David Alexander and wife in the Watson Block.
