Obituary
Velvyn Joy Henderson, 81, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at her home in Scott City. She was born August 14, 1926, to Vernon D.and Pearl E McKinley in Gove County. On June 2, 1946, she married "Jake" Loren A Henderson in Pueblo, Colorado. They moved to Scott City in 1947 from Pueblo. He died on March 4, 2004, in Scott City. She was bookkeeper, owner and operator of Henderson's Inc in Scott City. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Scott City, the United Methodist Women and the Pyramid China Painters. Survivors include son Larry Henderson, of Oak Grove, Missouri; daughters, Dr Joy Henderson-Logan, Topeka,Kansas and Jayne Augerot, Scott City; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Vernon Earl Bollinger; and sister, Vera Lewis.
