John Parks Brunk, 60, Uniontown, died on arrival at 7:05 p.m. yesterday, at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Pittsburg, where he was taken after an apparent heart attack while visiting friends in Pittsburg.
Mr. Brunk was born Oct. 7, 1912 in Ottawa, the son of William and Eva Parks Brunk.
He married Glesnor Hartman at Olathe on Jan. 1, 1942. They moved to Fort Scott in 1945.
Mr. Brunk was service manager for Bloomfield's Inc. until ill health forced his retirement.
He was a member of the Uniontown Methodist Church, the Elks Club, the UCT, and was active in amateur radio.
Survivors include the wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Gerry (Cynthia) Smith, of Pleasanton; and one granddaughter, Jill.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Uniontown Methodist Church, with Rev. Lyman Lauver officiating. Interment will be in Uniontown Cemetery.

Glesnor L. Brunk, 76, Fort Scott, died, Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997 at Mount Carmel Hospital, Pittsburg. She was born Jan. 23, 1920 in Bourbon County, the daughter of John Wesley and Jennie Gribble Hartman. She married John Parks Brunk at Olathe, Jan. 1, 1942, he preceded her in death Jan. 20, 1972.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Uniontown, VFW and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a dorm mother at Fort Scott Community College, House Mother at Phi Kappa Theta at Kansas State University, Cook at the TKE House at KU and until 1966 was a House Mother at the Pike House at KU.
She is survived by one daughter Cynthia Smith, Pleasanton; two brothers, John Hartman, California and Leland Hartman, Alvarado, Texas; two granddaughters, Jill DeLange, Girard; and Tiffany Smoot, Norman, Okla.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Uniontown.
