William was born in Illinois and died in Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., KS.

Benjamin Hill, (this has to be William) who has been sick at his home, corner of Hill and 2nd St., for some time died Sat. Eve. at 5 o'clock, July 14, 1904 of flux after a lingering illness. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. Sam Odell of Mapleton, Kans., Martin Brown of Berlin and Mrs. Frank (Perry) Holtsclaw of Ft. Scott. His mother resides near Berlin, Kans. The deceased was 42 years of age. The funeral was held last evening at Walnut Hill Cemetery and interment was made there.

William is buried on the west side of the cemetery. Furthest of the stone slabs on the north is William's mother, Elizabeth Banks-Brown Hill, then William, then daughters, Eva and Addie, of William's half brother Martin W. and Amanda M. Brown.
