Bobby Dean Boydston, 63, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday morning,March 8, 2008, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Bobby was born on March 5, 1945 to Zane Boydston and Clara Mead in Joplin, Missouri. He graduated from Joplin High School. He entered into the Air Force on February 3, 1966. Sergeant Bobby Dean Boydston served as an Aircraft Mechanic and Airman until August of 1969.
He worked as a manager for OTASCO in Joplin, Missouri, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Coffeyville, Kansas for 19 years. After his career at OTASCO, Bobby worked for Dixon Industries in Coffeyville for 12 years.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Rowena of the home; a daughter, Tina Camden of Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Twyla Raney of Joplin, Missouri; five step-sons, Matt Cleaver and Mike Cleaver of Joplin, Missouri, Dwayne Hurt of The Woodlands, Texas, Jeff McCartney of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Justin Vaughn of New Braunfels, Texas; two step-daughters, Renee Reed of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Dawn Strickland of New Braunfels, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill.
A graveside memorial service will be March 11, 2008 at the Pumpkin Creek Cemetery, east of Coffeyville, Kansas. Cremation will take place after a private family viewing.
Bobby's family suggests that memorials be contributed to the Disabled American Veterans in his memory.
