D. J. "Stump" Daniels, 75, rural Elsmore, died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at the Neosho Memorial Hospital in Chanute. He was born June 8, 1923, in Allen County, the son of John S. and Ruby Daniels. On Aug. 31, 1964, he married Micki Pitts at Erie.
He was a cattleman. He had served in the United States Army during WWII as a military policeman.
He was a member of the Elsmore United Methodist Church, The Elsmore Ruritan Club, Kansas Livestock Association, and the National Cattlemen Association.
Survivors include this wife, Micki, of the home; three daughters, Tammy Wiles, Elsmore; Kitty Bolinger, Savonburg and Cindy Walter, Harrisonville, Mo.; one brother, Keith Daniels, Redfield, Kan.; one sister, Judy Flanegin, Hancock, Iowa; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Delbert Daniels.
Cremation took place. Memorial services were Monday, June 22, 1998 at the Kunkel Funeral Chapel in Moran.
