Mr Raymond "Bud" Allison, 69, of Altamont, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 11, 1997, at the Labette County Medical Center emergency room. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

He was born August 10, 1928, in rural Altamont to Ernest Glenn and Marie Sammetinger Allison. He has lived all of his life in Labette County. He married Wilma E Stice, August 2, 1952, at Oswego First Baptist Church. She survives of the home. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with the Kansas Department of Transportation for 35 years, and then worked for a few years for Labette County Road and Bridge Department. He was with the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and then with the Army Reserves in Parsons as a Military Policeman.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church serving as a Deacon and a substitute Sunday School Teacher and also singing in the Choir. He was active in the Altamont Senior Citizens Center as well as the Altamont Masonic Lodge #69, being Past Master of the lodge twice. He was State Champion in Horseshoes in 1984 and was a member of the Kansas State Horseshoe Pitching Association. He was also a volunteer fireman and spent several years serving as an assistant Chief. Raymond was active in gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was also a substitute driver for Meals on Wheels and Senior Citizen Bus.

He is survived by Wilma Allison, his wife, of the home; Marie Allison, his mother, of Altamont, Kansas; son, Kent Allison of Coffeyville, Kansas; daughter, Lori Davis, of Oswego, Kansas; brother, Ronnie Allison, of Coffeyville, Kansas; and 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Allison and sister, Lucille Johnston.

Services were held on Tuesday, October 14, at the First Baptist Church in Altamont at 10:00 am with the Rev Marty Dewitt officiating. Bural was in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont with Masonic Graveside Rites. A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church or North Huston Apartments and may be left at the Bath Funeral Home of Altamont.
