Born in Oswego County, and died in La Crosse, Kansas, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 16 days.

He enlisted in DeKalb County, Illinois, August 8, 1862, as a private in the 105th Company Illinois infantry and served until June 1865, when he was discharged at Washington, DC.

He came to Kansas in 1886 and has been a resident of Kiowa County since May 1910, where he was a farmer. In February 1888 he married Anna Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Conde were admitted to the Home September 19, 1916, and were out on furlough at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Conde and two children from a former marriage, Mrs. M. C. Spencer and George Conde, both of California and a brother, George of Colorado.

Funeral services were held Saturday 25 Oct at 2PM in the chapel, Rev. Geo F. McDougall, Presbyterian minister of Dodge City, in charge. The body was then buried in the Fort Dodge Cemetery.
