John came to Newton,Ks about 1894 and for a number of years he had a shoe repair shop on East Third.[there is still a shoe repair shop in this location as of 2008], He moved out to his farm near Walton,Ks. about 1910. John and Maria[Mary]Klabau married in Newton,Ks. in 1892.
