The family moved back to Wellington Texas and in 1922 Eldon's sister Winona was born. Eldon's father worked on the family ranch and in 1931 his father was killed in an auto accident. His mother left Wellington and moved her family to Grove ,Oklahoma where her brother had a cafe in Grove. She also operated a cafe in Neosho,Missouri during the second world war.She met and married Marion Barns in 1940 in Neosho. Eldon and Winona finished school in Grove. Eldon attended business school after high school.The family moved to Coffeyville,Kansas and Eldon worked for Marion in his dry cleaning business for a short time before going to work for the Goodyear Rubber Company. On September 8,1944 He married Esther Graham. In 1946 their first child Julian was born shortly after the family moved to Ponca City,Oklahoma. Eldon then went to work for the B F Goodrich Tire and Rubber Company and moved to Hutchinson,Kansas. In 1951 they moved to Newton,Kansas to manage the Goodrich store. In 1952 their second child Janice was born.Eldon was a good business man and within a few years the store moved to a larger location.In 1960 Eldon was offered the Store in Hutchinson and a new home was purchased but on December 12,1960 Eldon was killed in a car train accident west of Newton while driving between the two stores.
