Bill E Johnston, 84, Osborne, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Osborne County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cedar on February 15, 1924, the son of James Orbrey and Elsie Peterson Johnston. He was a farmer.He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Johnston, in 1955.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Bales Johnston, of the home; daughters, Ruth Elaine Dunn, Cobden, Illinois, and Cindy Little, Auburn; sons, Jerry and Rex, both of Alton; sister, Sally Herndon, Glen Elder; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Friday at Clark-Gashaw Chapel, Osborne.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Mt Ayr Friends Church, Alton, followed by interment in Mt Ayr Cemetery, Alton.
Memorials may be made to Alton American Legion or the church, both of Alton.
