Owen L Moore, 65, passed away at Mitchell County Community Hospital. He had been ill with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis for an extended period of time. He was born at Concordia, Kansas, to Earl and Gail Owen Moore. He spent most of his childhood there. The family later moved to Downs where he graduated from Downs High School. Owen worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 12 years.In 1933, Owen was married to Aleene Funk. Three children were born to this union, Sondra, Ron and Meredith. They moved to Beloit where he operated a service station. In 1964, he became owner of the Beloit sears Store. Allene preceded him in death in 1968.
On April 22, 1973, Owen married Laura Clintsman of Downs. With this union, he gained two step-children, Dean and Barbara. Owen and Laura operated the Sears store until his health failed in 1978.
Ones preceding him in death in addition to Allene were his mother and father and two young brothers. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife, Laura; his children, Sondra Williamson; Ron and wife, Joan; and Meredith; his two step-children, Dean Clintsman and wife, Debbie, and Barbara Thompson and husband Lloyd; his grandchildren, Marsha and Mark Williamson, Jennifer and Timothy Moore, Lori, Bryan and William Clintsman, Larry Cheri and Carol Thompson; his brother, Max and sister, Myrth Steele; and three aunts and one uncle.
