Married John W "J W" Thornburgh December 31,1891 in Independence, Jackson, Missouri
J W was the principal of the Easton schools. Later, the family moved to Belleville, Republic, KS where J W took a position as superintendent of the school district. Lucy & J W had five children; Nettie, Forrest, Dessie O, Curtant L and William P
They later divorced and Lucy married Milton B Hancock in 1930 in Republic County, Kansas. Milton wned the Milton Hotel that he built with his brother, Cal Hancock.
