Harland Earl Beebe, 92, Fredonia, Kansas, died Monday, February 12, 2007 at Fredonia Regional Hospital.He was born March 8, 1914 in rural Ellsworth County, Kansas, to Ernest W and Bell Alcorn-Beebe.He served in the US Army during World War II.He lived and farmed most of his life in the Iola, Kansas and Geneva, Kansas area and owned a salvage yard in Iola. Later in life he worked for a short time updating rural maps and directories. On October 2, 1941 in Ellsworth, Kansas, he married Cornelia Black. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1953.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Fern Sloan, Tallahassee, Florida; 2 sons, Buddy Beebe, Forrest, Mississippi, and Kent Beebe, Kanapolis, Kansas; 4 stepsons, Martin Canfield, Iola, Kansas, Steve Canfield, Crawfordville, Florida, Ron Canfield, Northeast, Maryland, and Rick Hudson, Salsbury, North Carolina; a sister, Cleora Mabie, Park City, Kansas; 13 grand- children; 9 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tonya Beebe.
