Delmar Clayton Hogarty was born January 6, 1916 at Ada, the son of Clyde and Amy Moutray Hogarty. He departed this life Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1992, at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center. He had reached the age of 76 years and one day.
Delmar was married to Marjorie Maxine Chambers on November 26, 1939 at Tescott. Most of their married life was spent in Kansas except for the years 1943 to 1956 when they lived in San Deigo, Ca.
He served in the U.S. Navy attached to a Marine Air Squadron during World War II. He owned and operated Hogarty Upholstery in Tescott from 1956 through 1990. Delmar was a member of the Tescott's Lions Club, American Legion Post 255 in Tescott and the Tescott United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine, of the home; a daughter Vicki Gruber and husband John of Hope; two grandchildren, one brother Ray of Alma; and one sister Zelma Whitfield of Kansas City, Ks.
