Bronze Star Medal with Valor

Bunting, William "Bill", 80, of Kirkland, AZ, passed away March 4, 2012. He was born in Danville, AR to J.W. and Mattie Bunting. Bill was a retired 1st Sergeant in the Army serving during the Korean and Viet Nam wars. He was awarded the Gallantry Cross with a gold star by the Republic of Viet Nam for heroism, won the Air Medal for meritorious achievement and awarded the Bronze Star for heroism. For the last 20 years he has been the ranch manager at the Verde Vaqueros Ranch. Bill, along with his wife Joyce, make the camp ready each year for the Verde Vaqueros. In addition to the caretaker of the ranch, he was an all around cowboy for the ranches in Kirkland, AZ. Survivors include his wife Joyce; sisters Shirley Bunting Sandlin, Dottie Bunting and Sonia Bunting; brothers Jim and Weldon Bunting and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8th at 10:30AM at Scottsdale Bible Church Chapel, 7901 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale. Burial will take place in Salina, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scottsdale Boys and Girls Club or the St. John's Military School, Salina, KS. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary, Scottsdale, AZ-
