Richard G. Griffith, 81, Culver, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society - Minneapolis. He was born August 2, 1931 and was the son of Fred C. and Bessie (Burch) Shelby.

Richard was a 1951 graduate of Kipp High School and he served in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage with Loretta Austin on June 15, 1958 in Salina. They made their home in Culver for many years until moving to Delphos in 2011. Richard worked as a laborer for Western Auto and Advanced Auto Parts for 23 years. He was a member of the Church of the Cross in Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers Bill Griffith and Fred L. Shelby.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Loretta of the home; children Rick Griffith and his wife Sandy of Salina, Glennis Hughes and her husband Neil of Loveland, CO, James Griffith and his wife Sherry of Delphos, and George Griffith and his wife Denese of Salina; brothers Lee Griffith and Jim Shelby; sisters Betty Hartzell, Charlotte Leighton, and Anita Young; grandchildren Travis Sears and his wife Katie and their children Jordan, Jentry, Jaykin, and Jaxton, C.J. Sears and his wife Nicole and their children Carter, Ava, and Vivian, Zach Griffith, Cristina Hughes, Andy, Alisha, and Jacob Griffith.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 22 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Culver Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis.
