Uniontown--Funeral services for Mrs. Artie May Drake, pioneer resident of Bourbon County who died Jan. 7, were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Uniontown Baptist Church.
Artie May Ralston was born March 31, 1873 to David T. and Malinda Ralston, pioneer settlers of the community five and a half miles southwest of Uniontown, where she attended the local school and grew to womanhood.
She was married Oct. 7, 1891, to David A. Drake of the same vicinity. They both joined the Bethel Baptist church.
Surviving are two daughters, Elsie Mason of Kansas City and Vernie Cameron of Humansville, Mo; a son, Albert of Uniontown; a foster son, Orville Drake of Denver, Colo., and a brother Elmer Ralston. One daughter, Viola Ethel, died in infancy and one son, Arlie, died at the age of 20. Seven grandchildren also survive as do two great granddaughters.
