Elvin Elwood Jamison was born October 24, 1924, in Quinter, Kansas to Dennis Clarence and Mable Lucille Benson Jamison. He passed away May 2, 2002, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas, at the age of 77. Elvin attended school at Quinter, and graduated from Quinter High School, Quinter, Kansas. He joined the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. Elvin was honorably discharged.On August 18, 1951, he was united in marriage with Alta Mae Brown in Raton, New Mexico. They celebrated fifty years of marriage on August 18, 2001. She survives, of the home. Elvin was a farmer who loved his work. For a short time he was a superintendent lineman for Jillie and Cannon installing electrical and telephone lines. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchild were a central interest in his life. He took great pleasure in distributing Bibles as a member of Gideon International. Elvin was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in rural Studley. Survivors include a son, Dennis Bert Jamison and wife Becky of Quinter; a daughter Pamela Rose Jamison Popp and husband Conrad of Studley; 6 grandchildren: Albert E Popp, John P Popp, Conrad W Popp, Esther L Popp, Brianna Jamison and Abbie M Jamison; 1 great grandchild Jordan I. Popp; and a brother Robert Jamison and wife Loretta of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by a brother Darrel Jamison; and a sister Betty Lou Agler.

Alta Mae Brown Jamison passed away October 20, 2012 at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie, Kansas at the age of 82.

Alta graduated high school in Blackburn, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and Stitch and Chatter Club. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, cooking for farm crews, and mowing. Left to mourn her passing is daughter Pamela Rose Jamison Popp and husband Conrad of Quinter, Kansas, son, Dennis Bert Jamison and wife Becky of Buda, Texas. 6 grandchildren, Albert Popp and wife Jenny, John Popp and wife Wendy, Conrad W Popp and wife Haley, Esther Myers and husband Dieter, Brianna Briggs and husband Travis, and Abbie Jamison. 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan Popp, Anna Popp, Sophie Popp, Roman Popp, Willow Popp, Harper Popp, Joshua Popp, Asa Popp, Judah Myers and Jake Myers.
Her parents, husband, 1 brother Richard Ray Brown, 2 sisters, Norma Rose Siler and Berta Jane Roller preceded her in death.

Her family was always her priority and she worked diligently to make sure that her home was always clean and hot meals were in abundant supply. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the joys of her life.Her faith helped her through the difficult days and gave her peace in the times of storm.
