William Francis Burns was born
September 20, 1894 in Effingham,
Kansas. He was the oldest child of
John Francis Burns and Mary Louise
Murphy. He married Loretta Ellen Kelly
on November 22, 1919 in Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church at Valley
Falls, Kansas and lived there for 27
years. They had five children.
Loretta Ellen Kelly was born June 20, 1888.
Her parents were Michael and Mary Kelly.
She moved with her family to Valley Falls,
Kansas a few years before her marriage.
They came from a farm near Esbon in
north central Kansas. She married William
Francis Burns on November 22, 1919 in
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church
at Valley Falls. They had five children and
lived in Valley Falls for 27 years.
