Pauline Peters, daughter of Frank W and Mary (Flaming) Banman, was born near Hillsboro, Kan. She was baptized upon confession of faith on May 20, 1940, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel, Kan, by Peter H Unruh. She was married to Gerhard Peters on September 1, 1943, at the Alexanderwohl Church by Arnold Funk. She did some nursing at Harrisburg (Pa.) State Hospital where her husband served in Civilian Public Service. After CPS days, they entered the gospel ministry in 1948. She was an assistant in the ministry. They served at Gotebo, Okla,1948-53, at Burns, Kan, 1953-59, at Bourbon, Ind,1959-63, at Freeman, S D 1963-69, and at Pawnee Rock, Kan, 1969-84. While at Bourbon, Ind., she took some night classes at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries, Elkhart, Ind, while her husband was a student there.From 1959-1974 she gave great care and love to her son, who was a total invalid. She was a faithful wife and mother. She showed much bravery in facing the daily stresses and conflicts in life. She loved to play with her grandchildren. Her hobbies were embroidery, quilting and visiting the elderly in the church and community.
Her survivors include her husband; four children, Charmaine Fast, Carolyn and her husband Tom Kirkpatrick, Roberta Mabee and Robert and wife Suzanne Peters; seven grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul, one brother and three sisters.
