Rose Stephenson, 70, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at her home in Garden City. She was born October 25, 1936, in Dodge City, to William and Josephine Harms Boger. She started school at a country school in Ford County. After graduating from Dodge City High School in 1954, she worked as a secretary at the state employment office.
On August 6, 1957, she married Max Stephenson in Hodgeman County. After their marriage, they moved to Crane, Texas. In 1962, they moved to Fowler, where she helped her husband in the family welding business and drove a school bus. In 1977, they moved to Garden City, where she helped her husband with ABC Self Storage Company, and worked for many years in the nursery department at Wharton's for Every Blooming Thing. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City, and enjoyed music, serving as the church organist at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Meade while living in Fowler. She also enjoyed fishing. Her special interest was planting and growing flowers, trees and cactus in her yard and in her home. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Kelly Stephenson of Gardnerville, Nevada; a daughter, Tracie Stephenson of Oklahoma City; 2 sisters, Vivian Jennings of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Doris Anderson of Wichita; and 3 grand - children. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Glenn and Merle Boger.

He was born to Olie Frank and Evelyn L Anderson Stephenson. He married Rose Elaine Boger. She preceded him in death in 2007. Over the years, he became a much sought after pipe fitter and welder and decided to settle in Kansas and start a welding farm repair service. Later after a rancher approached him about the idea, he started his own custom metal building business, using his knowledge gained and engineering ability. Later he and wife Rose used his construction experience to form a storage unit rental company in Garden City where he retired from. He is survived by his son Kelly Stephenson of Gardnerville, Nevada, daughter Tracie Stephenson of Oklahoma City, sister Myrna Wall of Shreveport, Louisiana, 3 granddaughters, and 1 great-granddaughter.
