Mrs. Roy L. Nichols
Mabel Nichols, 73, 608 East Lincoln, died this morning, Feb. 22, 1978, at the Allen County Hospital.

She was born Dec. 19, 1904 in Bronson where she attended school. On May 20, 1923 she was married to Roy L. Nichols and they moved to a farm south of Bronson. In August of last year Mrs. Nichols moved to Iola to live with her daughter, Thora Shinn.

Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Bronson United Methodist Church, the Bronson Extension Homemakers Unit and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Don Nichols of Wichita; three daughters, Reta Jones of Fort Scott, Mrs. Shinn and Margaret Ruckman, both of Iola; two sisters, Bessie Colwell, Yellow Jacket, Colo., and Ruth Donoho of Saco, Mont.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two brothers Mark and Ralph Watson, preceded her in death.

The funeral service was held Saturday morning at the Bronson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon Dillon officiating. Burial was in the Bronson Cemetery under the direction of the Kunkel Chapel of Moran.

The family received friends from Friday evening at the Kunkel Chapel.

The family suggested memorials in Mrs. Nichols' name be given to the American Cancer Society or the Bronson United Methodist Church.
