Mrs. Dena Colwell, 85, Bronson, died Saturday, July 28, 1962, at the McAfee Nursing Home in Iola. She had been failing health for some time.
Born Nov. 8, 1876, in Belinda, Iowa, she was the daughter of Samuel and Jennie Oller Manely. On Sept. 29, 1895, she married Lewis Vincent Colwell in Lebanon, KS. Mr. Colwell preceded her in death in 1951.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Austin (Enice) Holeman, Bronson; Mrs. Ralph (Jennie) Young, Concord, Calif., and Mrs. Don (LaVonne) Weymouth, Corona, Calif., two sons, A. Buell Colwell, Bronson, and Park Colwell, Bayfield, Colo., four sisters, Cora Applebee, Lebanon; Lula Beach, Cottage Grove, Ore., Minnie McCarty, Washington, Kan., Dessie Williams, Superior, Neb., and a brother Rey Manely, Lebanon. There are six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday in the Bronson Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Welch of Appleton City, Mo., officiating.
Interment was in the Bronson Cemetery.
