Son of Andrew and Mary Ann Hogg Blair. He was born in Ireland and came to this country at the age of 18, arriving in New York on May 12, 1867. He married Louella Phillips on October 23, 1875 in Washington County, Kansas and in 1889 the family moved to Labette County, Kansas.

Daughter of William and Cordelia Huff Phillips In 1868 she came with her family to Washington County, Kansas. In 1875 she married David Blair. They later moved to Labette County, Kansas where they raised their family.
