Pioneer Resident of Redfield Since 1866 Died Saturday at 5:15 P.M.--in 85th Year.
Mrs. Susan Janette Jones, widow of the late David Jones, a pioneer of the Redfield neighborhood since 1866, passed away Saturday, August 11th, at 5:15 p.m. after a four weeks' illness of general debility. the family home is in the Poplar Grove district, 10 1-2 miles northwest of Redfield.
Mrs. Jones was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Reeder, coming to Bourbon County with them when a girl, in 1866. She has lived on the one farm all that time. She was born in Cane county, Ill., April 22, 1844. At her death she was aged 84 years, 3 months and 19 days.
Mrs. Jones had a kindly spirit and was loved by all in the community. She was sanctified in the Holiness church 20 years ago, but had been a Christian since childhood.
She leaves two sons, viz. F.M. Jones of Mapleton, and E. D. Jones on the home place, also a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Officer of Emmett, ID. Her sister, Mrs. Deborah Call lives at King City, Mo., and her brother W.H. Reeder at Mapleton. Mrs. Jones left eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
No definite funeral arrangements were made. It will be from the home and burial in the family lot in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
