Wilma was born in rural Altamont, Kansas, on November 7, 1922, to Charles G and Ruth E Waugh Hagan. She was raised in Southeast Kansas, graduated from LCCHS, taught in a one room school (Rosedale), and worked at a defense plant in Wichita before enlisting in the US Navy. She served our country as a WAVE, during most of WWII, as a payroll officer at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station. It was there that she met and married her husband of 45 years, James E Addock.

Mrs Addock had no children, but took great delight in all of her many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Her life was deeply saddened by the untiely death of a nephew, David Hagan, in 1974, and a niece, Cynthia Hagan, in 1986.
