He was a great lover of music and at one time was the director of a band in the Peabody community.
He had a deep bass voice and he sang at many funerals in and near Peabody and Hillsboro. At one time he taught a boys Sunday school class in his home church near Hillsboro. The members of the quartet that sang at his funeral were members of his Sunday school class.
He was married to Mary Loewen on September 20, 1906. They lived near Peabody for eight years, then near Hillsboro seven years and for the past thirteen years in Newton where he was employed by the Santa Fe railroad company where he had many friends.
Mr. Zeih leaves his wife, Mrs Mary Zeih and two children, a daughter, Evelyn and a son, Woodrow, two brothers, Jake of Aulne and John of Hillsboro and Mrs Elizabeth Foth of Doise City, Okla One sister, Mrs Anna Harder, died three years ago.
He had not been very well during the past five years, but his death came very suddenly at 12:30 p.m., November 2, 1933. During the last two weeks of his life he had a feeling that he would not be with his loved ones much longer. He gave expression to this feeling on many occasions. When death came it found him well prepared to meet his Maker and he passed peacefully in to the great beyond.
