Her parents came to Kansas in 1885, and Newton was her home for more than 63 years. Her father became prominent in Republican party politics in Kansas.
She married Dr J W Graybill in Newton January 23, 1901, he was a physician and surgeon, who later was twice elected lieutenant governor of Kansas.
