Mrs Vera Manning, the former Vera Gordon, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gordon of this city, died at a Wichita hospital at 12:30 this afternoon of injuries received in an automobile accident last Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Manning is survived by her stricken parents, who have been with their daughter since the accident, by her husband and five-year old daughter Laura May, and by her brother, Arthur Gordon of this city.
Mrs. Manning received the fatal injuries Sunday afternoon when their car was crashed into by a car from off a side road as they were riding on a highway. She received head injuries which caused hemorrhage of the brain.
Funeral arrangements had not been made when the brother called the Kansan this afternoon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dwight L. Manning; who passed away at 12:30 Thursday afternoon in a Wichita hospital of a fractured skull and other injuries in an automobile wreck last Sunday were held this afternoon at 3:00 in the Faith Baptist church in Wichita. The Rev. E. Shank pastor officiated. Burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery here at 5:30 this evening.
Mrs. Manning received the injuries which caused her death last Sunday afternoon 11 miles east of Wichita when the car in which she was riding on the highway with her husband and five year old daughter was crashed into from a side road by Roy Haynes of near Rose Hill, who was accompanied by his family. View of the intersection where the accident occurred was said to be obscured to drivers approaching from either direction by a hedge.
Vera Gordon was born in Ottawa, Kansas on December 6, 1899, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Gordon of this city. When she was a year old the family moved to Newton and she was educated in the Newton schools. When she was a freshman, the family moved to Sterling and she graduated from Sterling high school. She moved to Wichita with her parents about fifteen years ago. She was married to Dwight L. Manning and the husband and five year old daughter, Laura Mae, with her parents and brother, Arthur Gordon, survive.
Mrs. Manning was a beautiful character, faithful to her church, the Faith Baptist of Wichita, a loving and devoted mother and wife and a considerate daughter.
