Anna Lea Dohm was born July 31, 1917, in rural Gove County, Kansas. She was one of 15 children born to Lewis and Florence Rogers Roberts. She passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, in the Gove County Medical Center at Quinter at the age of 93. She was a homemaker.She graduated from Gove High School and received her teaching certificate. She taught in a one room schoolhouse 5 1/2 miles south of Grinnell when Grant Dohm rode by on his horse and thought to himself, "this is the girl I'm going to marry." They were married May 4, 1941, at her home. Anna Lea and Grant loved to entertain, play pitch and pinochle, garden, farm, and travel. They especially loved their fun time in the camping club. They loved when community members would come to boat, fish, and picnic on their farm lake. Grant died in 1991. Anna Lea was a member of the Grinnell Methodist Church. She moved to Quinter after Grant's death in 1991. She still enjoyed traveling to Colorado and North Carolina to see her children. In Quinter, she was surrounded by her siblings, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include a son, Lynis Dohm and wife, Carol, of Greenville, North Carolina; a daughter, Lea Anna Miller and husband, Donald, of Loveland, Colorado; 4 grandchildren, Jason Dohm and wife, Janet; Amy Carroll and husband, Barry, Angela Miller, Grant Miller and wife Kristi; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wendell Roberts and wife, Emily, of Quinter; a sister, Wilma Jean Gillespie of Quinter; and a sister-in-law, Janice Roberts of Quinter.
