Mrs Minnie Bitter, 99, a resident of the Russell Kare Center died Thursday, June 2, 1983, at the Russell City Hospital.

She was born February 26, 1884, in Rostov, Russia, to Christoph and Anna Boger, and came to this country at about age 6. She was married to George J Bitter, May 18, 1905, in Barton County. He died June 1, 1948. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Hoisington. She was a homemaker in Barton County most of her life.

Survivors are four sons, William of Otis, Solomon and Dan of Hoisington, and Samuel of Russell; three daughters, Mrs Pauline Hammond, Kimberling City, Missouri, Mrs Esther Krug of Russell, and Mrs Clara Smith, Mesa, Arizona; 19 grand - children, 49 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grand children.

Funeral services were at 2 pm Sunday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hoisington, Rev Art Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Hoisington Cemetery.
